"I love long romantic walks down the makeup aisle." -Unknown
Whether you're going out to a romantic dinner with your lover or doing a girls' spa night in, Valentine's Day is the best time to celebrate anyone and everyone you hold near and dear to your heart- especially you! Today is a celebration of love, and what better person to give a little extra pampering and treats to than yours truly?
We get caught up in the idea that Valentine's Day is for lovebirds gifting each other chocolate and roses- or a thousand flowers if your name is Kim and your husband is Kanye. But even if it's just a 59c heart-shaped Ring Pop, do a little something extra for yourself today in the name of self-love.

Out of all the lip glosses and eye creams stashed away in my vanity, here are three Valentine's Day-themed products I'm using today to treat myself.

1. Essie nail lacquer in "Wicked." They say that nails are the one thing you can get in shape without exercise, so tonight is the perfect night to get your hands in tip-top shape. The shiny finish on this satin red shade is moody and dark, which matches our mood as we scroll through Instagram stories of couples at steak dinners and hotels. Sigh.
Find it at Target for $8.99.
2. The Righteous Butter. If you haven't invested in this $15 body cream, just do yourself a solid and order it right now. One of the reviewers of the product noted that "it literally smells like a rich woman" and I couldn't agree more.

It'll leave your skin silky smooth during these dry winter months and you'll be smelling like a combination of roses and amber. Win win.

3. Perfume. My grandmother always says that a spritz of perfume before bed will give you the sweetest of dreams. While she uses a dab of Chanel No. 5, I prefer this scent better matched to my age for happy dreams about my future perfect husband. Bonne nuit à moi!
Instead of sulking this V-day, take the night for some R&R, and of course, some of your favorite beauty regimens!
Xx,
M.L.F.
