A simple guide to self-tanner

Getting that sunkissed look at the beginning of springtime isn't easy after you've been locked up inside for the long winter months. Getting outside in the sun for a real tan will only leave you long-lasting damage, and most spray tan products leave you orange as Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars.

However, I did us all a favor and took to Instagram to ask my followers which self-applied tanners are the best and the results are in! Here are the best seven self-tanners recommended by your peers:

1. St. Tropez "Classic Bronzing Mousse" - This was by far the most popular response. According to a responder, "it makes you dark, NOT orange, and if you use the mitt with the spray, it turns out perfectly."

2. Clarins "Liquid Bronze Self Tanning" - Recommended by a loyal M.L.F. Prep follower, this product available at Nordstrom is a gradual self-tanner that you will give you a "gorgeous, natural glow."

3. Rodan + Fields "Essentials Foaming Sunless Tan" - To show off an "even, natural looking tan without exposing your skin to the harmful, aging effects of the sun's UVA, this formula is lightweight and oil-free, easy to apply and dries quickly.

4. Tanceuticals CC Self Tanning Body Lotion in dark - This self-tanner is amazing because it's actually also really good for your skin. It not only gives you a flawless, sunless tan, it also improves the appearance and health of your skin without the normal funky smell of most self tanners.

Now go out there and get that sunkissed look without being kissed by the sun at all!

Xx,

M.L.F.
